Relationships/Friendships

Healthy relationships are mutually satisfying for both parties. Healthy relationships have qualities such as acceptance, honesty, respect, and enjoyment as well as equality. This means that relationships are also reciprocal, and there is give and take in the relationship. If a relationship loses this balance, the party that gives more can start to feel resentful of the party that takes more. This can cause an unhealthy relationship dynamic, in which one party may feeling they have more power and control over the other. Unhealthy relationships tend to have qualities such as rejection, dishonesty, and lack of respect and enjoyment. They can also be characterized by inequality, negativity, and unhappiness.
